The paintings I present deal with nature and humanity, they also have symbolism, for example plants are a kind of alter ego for me, they have life stages. Moths fly at night. Existentialism is perhaps the concept I would use to best describe my work. Often and with pleasure, I work directly from observations, living and dead models, sometimes from my own photographs or stimuli I find in the media and stored in my memory.

The artist must be given complete free reign to the feelings he has, and disregard everything that does not naturally appeal to him. This ruthlessness serves as a discipline for me to discard what is not necessary for me. If this process were not constantly alive, I would see life simply as material for my art. I look at something and ask myself, Can I make the picture I of this?
