The joint exhibition of Anni-Sofia Knuuttila and Reeta Leinonen deals with identity, being under the gaze and
self-image themes. The exhibition consists of artists' oil paintings.
Knuuttila's paintings are staged self-portraits in which he deals with the different layers of identity and it
how we see ourselves in a world saturated with images. In Leinonen's paintings, people lose
balance both figuratively and literally. The artists' colorful works deal with
formation of self-image and identity through humor and visual story.
Knuuttila and Leinonen are visual artists from Imatra and they graduated in the same year in Saimaa
from the University of Applied Sciences. Knuuttila has participated in and organized several group and joint exhibitions
several solo exhibitions in Finland. In recent years, Leinonen has exhibited at Turku Art Hall,
Wallenius in Wapriik and at the cultural factory in Manila.
