THE CHIRPING OF A FINCH AND THE SONG OF A MOSQUITO -HIKES IN FOREST NATURE
MARJA-ELINA UUSITUPA
14.02.-03.03.2024, HIILI -SPACE

Marja-Elina Uusituva's painting-soundscape-white-photo-space exhibition in Ahjo.

Without nature, there is no human. Nothing is more important than an ant's path. Come to the bosom of nature and the arms of the forest. Relax in the hammock. Time is not linear but a kind of mandala.

The art center will be built in Ahjo/Hiilitila, an exhibition in which forest nature is strongly present. The exhibition is based on the trips of the visual artist/painter Marja-Elina Uusituva, which she has made over the course of three years in southern Finland, as well as in Lapland in Finland and Norway, as well as in Germany. For walks and hikes, from small preserved forest patches to larger ones. The walks have sometimes involved making some kind of simple disappearing mandalas to mark the places that have called to stop and recording the soundscape. The paintings were created for the spirit of the forest.

Nowadays, the artist from Helsinki has lived about half of her life in the country and half in the city in different parts of Finland.
