TIMI LEHIKOINEN - WHERE THE SKY BEGINS 26.3.-13.4.2025

Timi Lehikoinen is a Joensuu-based artist and teacher. He has primarily worked as a visual arts teacher in elementary and secondary schools, but alongside his teaching, he has strived to maintain and develop his own artistic expression. In this exhibition, he presents paintings created over the past year.

The starting point of his paintings is nature. However, he does not depict nature in a literal or copied way, but rather from an impressionistic perspective, where the painting process moves the work far beyond its initial concept. The result is more of a mental state than a concrete thing. For him, the painting process is a meditative moment, where composition, rhythm, or brushwork become the focus of exploration—a moment from which the sky can begin. The exhibition’s title is multilayered, referring both to form and content. The paintings are created using oil and acrylic paints.

The exhibition opening will be on Tuesday 25.3.2025 klo: 18-20.
