PASI TIKKA – THE RIVER FLOWS WITH YOU 18.6.-6.7.2025

Artist Pasi Tikka, who has filmed and photographed the Pielisjoki River and its shores throughout all seasons and times of day between 2020 and 2025, brings together his own music compositions, lyrics, videos, photographs, and poetry into a cinematic experience. In eight river-related stories, the work dives deep into the human mind, without shying away from darker themes. Through the lyrical storytelling in his music, Tikka invites the viewer to explore layered meanings and reflects on humanity’s impact on nature.

The narrative is contrasted and enriched by nature imagery—both harsh and beautiful—captured in all weather conditions during the filming period. Tikka aims to evoke a range of emotions in the viewer throughout the performance. The exhibition also includes photographic prints from his journeys along the Pielisjoki River. The presentation is available in both Finnish and English.
