TARU MAJEWSKI - SOMISTETTU RUSETEIN August 20 – September 7, 2025

Taru Majewski’s acrylic paintings explore the connection between emotions and the body, as well as the fleeting nature of feelings. Comic-like elements, such as motion-frozen water droplets and pink ribbons, bring a sense of lightness even to the heaviest of themes. Many of the paintings in the exhibition are self-portraits, in which emotional experiences extend beyond the body and mind into the surrounding world, taking shape as visual metaphors, for example in the form of tears or moisture condensed on the surface of a fruit. How do emotions reflect onto our surroundings, and could everyday things hold deeper meanings and symbolism, or perhaps even offer comfort?
