In her works Karoliina Arvilommi uses a traditional wet felting technique to which she has developed her own techniques that enable the desired end result and the intense glow and depth of the colors.

In recent years, Karoliina Arvilommi has worked on the Puzzle series, which consists of decorative and colorful pieces of different shapes. When the pieces combine with each other they form characters, objects and organisms, which in turn create stories. Colors and their effect on each other have always played an important role in the artist's work. However, in the above-mentioned Puzzle series, shape becomes an equally important factor in terms of the whole. Using the same parts, she forms changing and new images with the starting point being the idea that we are all one, that all living things are made of the same substances.

The material is Finnish sheep wool from local organic farms, which the artist washes and dyes by hand.
